Earl Scruggs Lester Flatt
Cripple Creek Tab
-----Cripple Creek-----
The version I am tabbing out is based off of the Earl Scruggs and Lester Flatt version.
Also Billy Connolly
does a fantastic rendition. Highly recommended.
Open G tuning (DGDGBD)
Sometimes I put a capo on the 2nd or 3rd frets, but its preference honestly.
Basically you are tuning your guitar to the same tuning a banjo is in, open G. It sounds
pretty darn close.
This song is fairly easy to play and is absolutely a blast. Enjoy!
I also recommend muting some of the notes as well to get a bit more gritty bluegrass
feel to it.

There are a lot of different improvisations you can do off of these licks that are a lot
of fun to play and
sound good, but these are the basic licks to give you a good start.
